Honoring The Rainbow Evolution Retreat- Bringing You To The Table

I love performing artists back in the day.

Be it, actor, actress, singer, dancer, male or female.

They B-R-I-N-G I-T!

They bring their entire being into the table, filling up every performance they are in.

They wanted it.

See this actress over here, her name is Deannie Yip.

She is famous in Hong Kong for stellar performances, always embodying the character in any way shape or form, even though it is hideous, un-glamorous, or that it requires hours and hours of discipline and diligence.

No matter what, she brings all of her bringing every character and song to live.

She wanted it.

I recently had an opportunity to B-R-I-N-G I-T!

Though not in sing or dance.

It was an opportunity to co-facilitate once again, for The Rainbow Evolution Retreat, held at the Center for Natural Therapies.

I never seen really myself being able to hold and assist in someone's transformation.

I know I m good at holding spaces.

But facilitating a bigger group was another matter.

It was an opportunity to do something that I have never done in front of people,

Graphic Facilitation/Recording.

I am a doodler by nature.

Not completely excellent with my drawings and shadings.

There was an unusual knack of recording thoughts and concepts and putting them on paper.

You see graphic facilitation is a process of helping people see their thinking come alive on paper, and see how they relate to other thoughts they float around in the mind.

I did it for myself all the time, but for others, WHOA!

There was 2 options in my mind.

1. Do it.
2. Pee in my pants, curl up like a baby and pretend that this opportunity never existed.

One thing for sure is, I wanted it.

I wanted to shine and be in my element.

I grabbed the markers by the balls.

and said yes.

BEST DECISION EVER!

Why? Because these are some of the results.

First off, is I never knew I could these. Also, that it could be so much fun, drawing live in front of people, capturing thoughts in real time.

Even better when, the participants came back with feedback that they loved it. Some was amazed I could capture everything, helped them understand what was being shared better, bounce ideas, and one even asked me to write a book!

The point of sharing this is not just to brag, although I am obviously marinating myself in pride.

What you didn't know is the story behind this drawings.

I m not particularly successful or intelligent like most people.

I can't recite to you quotes from a book, I don't have PHD, and I can't expound theories of the Universe to get your god damn approval.

Drawing was a way of escape.

It was a way to stop the buzzing in my head.

It was a way to put thoughts & feelings on paper.

Reason being, I was a hella of a lonely child who was dyslexic and suck at school.

As an adult I seem to like the metaphysical, and spend many hours researching weird ass things that people think it's way too much effort to even research.

In essence,  I was the oddball, the strange character who was a lil crazy, who really still don't feel I fit in.

None of that mattered to enough to stunt the process going forward, because I had my eyes on my goals.

I want to live, I want to shine, I want to express.

I would do anything that is thrown at me to grow.

And that was how I got to this point.

It's no secret.

It's hours of practice.

Its hours of blood, sweat & tears and honoring feedback and taking it and using it.

Then bringing myself again to the table.

The Rainbow Evolution Retreat, was that saga that I dived into, an opportunity to B-R-I-N-G I-T!

I came out feeling a little taller and prouder, knowing that I have grabbed at the opportunity, to do something for myself.

This intense mind, body, retreat was full-on at every second of it, from the planning, to the facilitating, to the coaching.

The rewards? It's the hard but truly fun work itself.

The results? I have my essence in my being.

I could not have done it with the people there.

I could never have gotten there without the support from friends who would hold me accountable to my dreams and wishes.

People who were willing to give me a chance.

People who give me a platform to be me.

People who were there at every second of it.

For that my peeps, I am super grateful.

How blessed am I to spend 6 days with you :)

Many people at times refuse to go the distance, to reach their dreams, to live their lives.

Many youths of today too, feel the same.

When an opportunity is there, they stay at the sidelines, laughing at the man or woman in the field saying that they are fool.

Because they are foolish.

Because they are wasting time.

Because it's takes too much effort.

Because failing would be too embarrassing.

Why bother, there's no point anyway? Not like you will get anything back?

Is that you?

I hope it isn't, because you are sacrificing your life and holding your self back for fear for embarrassment.

The Rainbow Evolution Retreat taught me to live in full color.

Because, if you share all of your colors with life, you will find yourself back.

That's The Rainbow Evolution Retreat, claiming every color of your being and living fully in the moment.

To you, my friends, Namaste.

Many Thankius.

You are awesomers.

Square 1: Death & Rebirth Malaysia

I am writing this not as bashing post to anyone, by no means pointing the finger.

But, a Reframe and an awareness needs to be put forward.

Malaysians and our peace loving ways has gotten the best of us that wolves has sneaked into the  governance of our country for many many years.

The desire to maintain the Status Quo.

The attitude of not rocking the boat, and keeping the peace.

The attitude of "Nevermind-lah" better known as our laid back "Tidak-Apa" attitude has gotten the best of us.

The attitude of they know better, let them handle it.

The attitude of safekeeping that lil bit of comfort that we have.

This dangerous attitude that bled into our homes and made us think we are smaller than we are.

Today marks a sad day, a mourning if you will of our beloved country, where the educated masses has realized fully that bandits run the country.

Coincidental blackouts happening throughout the country, and magical ballots appearing like the silent fart of a Dictator that pollutes the air.

Phantom voters who can appear to vote and re-vote.

The police and even by the means of our own people who worked for the government have betrayed us in terms of a Clean & Fair Vote.

Even Gollum would look prettier in a gown of peace in comparison.

Democracy died in Malaysia Today.

But if you will take a look closely, my lovely Rakyat.

Our beloved people, the fact that 80% of us showed up today to vote has made all the difference.

For the first time in a long time, we have stood up again for one another.

We did not turn a blind eye.

We got out of our comforts and attempted to do something.

We DID something.

There is an interesting phenomena in Facebook where many have commented it is time to migrate, this country is useless.

It reminded me of how many of our ancestors too thought the same when they migrated from their homelands, that it was hopeless to prosper and live in peace if they remained.

They moved.

They won.

They moved again.

They won again.

You get the picture.

You can't keep running.

There is a time where you stand up and be an adult and claim full responsibility.

As a Nation, many of our youths and young adults have lost sight of our own authentic power.

Our ancestors too forgot about that power, and ran to maintain that iddy-biddy bit of peace & comfort they can find.

We compare that the grass is greener on the other side.

We compare that they get better education on the other shore.

We compare that they have better talents by rights of what they decree.

We compare and despair then lost sight of our own unique talents and abilities that are also in us.

Many the gifted has left.

Some remained.

Some were too afraid to even embrace a little piece their own gifts.

To You Malaysia, I Mourn deeply with my shattered broken heart.

To You Malaysia, I Rejoice with my budding hope.

Maybe this needed to happen for us to own our own power, to forge forward to make a change.

Maybe this needed to happen for us to play bigger as Malaysians & Real Adults.

Quit it, we are no longer children.

End it, we are no longer victims.

The Rebirth has only just begun.

Malaysians, this is it, time to learn to walk & trust our own instincts.

Play Big Now, It Is Time.

Magic Step 25: Be Brave

I made many mistakes recently.

I don't think I have stopped making mistakes since I was born.

But why do I even see it as a mistake?

One of my favorite people in the world Nina Wise, the wise teacher and performing artist was grieving weeks after her father's death after a retreat.

In that meditation retreat, the Facilitator taught them to meditate openly.

Allowing all thoughts and feelings to arise and pass away in the big sky of consciousness.

However, each time she meditated, a powerful grief would arise.

She tried to sink into her true nature and recognize herself as pure light, pure emptiness, however, the feelings would not dissipate

The facilitator said, "You do not grief into light,"

"You grieve."

The facilitator was Tsokyi Rinponche.

He goes on to explain, a Bodhisattva is being a who upon becoming enlightened vows to always embody in human form and dedicate his or he life to altruistic action in effort to alleviate suffering of all beings.

He continued.

"'Sattva' means courage, becoming a Bodhisattva does not mean you do not suffer. Becoming a bodhisattva means you become a warrior and are willing to feel deeply the suffering that is a part of human life..."

"...As you build your courage and open yourself more and more to feeling this pain, then you develop true compassion. And as compassion arises, the pain is no longer suffering; the pain is also joy because the heart is broken open.

As they say in Judaism, "A broken heart is the gateway to heaven."

Can I let myself break apart?

Can You let yourself break apart?

My hunch is so many of us suffer, because life did not turnout perfect.

We try.

We fail.

We fall flat.

We are sad.

We self bash.

We hide.

We stop feeling.

We self paralyze.

A question to ponder, "Why?"

Goop 18: Xmas Greeting

Hey Hey Hey Now,

The story behind this piece is hillarious.

I made someone feel old when I said, "Oh no...I am growing older"

I am 28, he's 35ish.

LOL.

Dear Life, Thanks for Growth?

Goop 17: The Invaded Tea Party

I wonder who this is for.

Spirit has not revealed yet, but I m excited for that person!

It's a tea party with lil fae sprites coming for a visit.

Thanks for Tea, Dear life.

Goop 16: Logo Mojo

This one was totally funny.

I never expected myself doodling a logo for fun.

Sharmine Ishak is the wordsmith.

A very talented writer, can't wait to see him publish his book!

Ya'all need to watch out for this Literary Star in the makin'.

Goop 15: Fly My Pretty....

Fly my pretty...Fly fly~AHIAHIAHIAHIAHIA

I had no idea who this was for.

But it was totally fun to produce her.

At the time of doodling her I was watching a clip of the Hunchback of Notre-Dame, where a gargoyle was sending his beloved pigeons to attack some unruly guards while listening to Fly Me To The Moon.

So Fly My Pretty!
